The AQUILA Engineering Group is a privately-held group of companies developed around AQUILA Ltd, established in 2009 in Iraqi Kurdistan with European and Kurdish capital. The company has its headquarters in Erbil and holds branch offices in most Iraqi Governorates. It also has representation offices in Turkey and Jordan and representatives/agents in half a dozen countries. AQUILA’s initial focus was the rehabilitation of Iraqi refineries which were in very need of repair after decades of war and neglect. Since 2011, the company also started with the design, engineering, construction and implementation of new projects in the Oil & Gas sector. In less than a decade since its inception, AQUILA has completed close to 100 projects, ranging from simple repairs to comprehensive overhauls and turnkey EPC industrial projects. AQUILA recently initiated its international expansion, backed by its acquired know-how and in-house engineering skills. The main scope of this expansion will be the setup of very efficient micro and mini hydrocarbon refineries (up to 20,000bpd) in the Middle East and Africa.
